The most Ridiculous Golden Girls ever...
On my way home from therapy today, as I was ruminating about what I had talked about, I was reminded of the most ridiculous this I'd ever seen on TV.
There was an episode of the Golden Girls dedicated to the issue of addiction to presription pain killer addiction. Apparently Rose had been taking pain pills for something like 30 years, and in the course of one night she manages to kick said habit.
That is just infuriating. No one kicks a habit like that in one night. Especially not someone who had been abusing said drug for more than a decade.
Ah, sometimes television is shit.
But tomorrow, I see the new Star Wars...so all is right with the world...

Or, like on Good Times when Florida completely gets over the death of her husband, James, by shattering punch bowl on the floor while screaming "Damn, Damn, Damn" ---- then she was all over it and became a school bus driver in Harlem.
I think the worst Golden Girl moment was sometime in the late 80's after only a couple of the girls were left and they opened a hotel or something and Cheech and Chong made an appearance on the show. I was stoned, but I do think this happened. And, it was a really bad sitcom moment. And and even better reason for me to get off drugs! Which I did! ...in one night with the support of my wise-cracking 70-something pals with whom I shared one bathroom and furniture from Pier One Imports.
