Sitting on my ass...

...isn't what it used to be.

I'm so freaking bored!

Last week I was so excited to have this time off ahead of me. Now, a few days into it...I can hardly wait for it to be over.

I've somehow lost the ability to sleep in. So, despite going to bed as late as 2:00 am the last few nights, I've been lucky to sleep as late as 8:00. This morning I actually woke up at around 6:30, but refused to get up out of bed until 9:00.

I've watched everything I have to watch. I've read everything I was going to read. I have no extra money to spend so I can't go shopping, other than window shopping, and that has never been very fulfilling to me.

So, I spend a lot of time sitting around. There's not even been anything on television to watch.

Thankfully, today, Tim came by to have lunch, so I was occupied for a while this morning cooking. But this afternoon was spent loitering online and taking a short nap.

Now I'm sitting here at 8:15 restless as hell. I refuse to go outside and read on the balcony because I know I'll just sit out there chain smoking until I have a headache.

So, last night, to alleviate the boredom, and again tonight, I got in my car and drove back and forth through the streets of the historical district I live in. There are so many beautiful homes. I like to drive around and be filled with envy looking at them.

It killed an hour at least...lol

So, the vacation is not as fulfilling as I'd hoped it would be. But, at least I'm not at work.

A holiday with nothing much too do is never very exciting and seems such a waste I know. 1 more day and then I have 2 weeks off. Hurrah! A week of (hopefully) basking in the sun on the beaches of Cornwall tied in with the wedding. Then a week at home to relax and recharge the batteries for when I go back to work. The thing with holidays is that they seem to be over far too quickly.

At lest you are sitting on your bum. I always seem to take a working holiday. I take vacation and work on the spring cleaning I didn't get done or remodeling.

I did take a three day weekend two weeks ago to take my son to Frontier City for a mini-vacation. *gasp*

Oh, poor baby.

Do you have a river or a place near water? You could take your walkman, lay down in the grass and just chill to some great music.

Of course, I guess your vacation ends today, eh?

Well, no matter how one looks at it --- down time is good every once and a while and you've been working so hard!

kisses,
matt
